Applications for the DAC's Emerging Artists Grant program are now open. Artists who live in Durham, Orange, Chatham, Granville and Person Counties are eligible to apply for these professional development project grants . Details on the program and links to applications are on the DAC website.

Applications are due October 31, 2021. DAC School News School Breaks Start Next Week. Register for Art Camp Today! School break camps are designed for students’ ages 5 to 12 years old and offer a flexible schedule to accommodate year-round and traditional school breaks. Students participate in both visual and performing arts activities that are inspired by a theme. Each week of camp will have different activities. Camp runs from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Drop-off begins at 8:30 AM. Pick up ends at 5:15 PM.

DPAC invites those who are able among our Durham community, friends, members and past guests to support local hospitals in this time of need. As a special thank you for your generosity, every donor will receive a $20 eGift card.
Over this past year, DPAC Blood Drives have been part of helping save over 2,000 lives. With your help, we could save 1,000 more.
For those who haven't already, please consider registering now for a time to donate. When we share blood, healing happens and families remain whole. By registering in advance, The Blood Connection will know how many supplies and staffing to coordinate.
THE I REMEMBER PROJECT A Cassilhaus residency in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, October 2021 that will result in production of a participatory multi-generational community public art work. With the help of your community, using donations of photographic negatives and slides, visual artist Elizabeth Stone will weave and sew together personal narratives from multiple generations into a large sculptural art piece.
This collaborative record of the community’s identity will be created with the artist at scheduled “sewing bees'' encouraging participants to pause and reconsider the many perspectives of a shared experience, sparked by family photographs.
DAC will serve as a drop off location for photographic negatives and slides. Between September 14-October 7, you can drop off materials at the DAC Terrace on Tuesday, Wednesday,Thursday between 11 am - 3 pm. For more information contact Elizabeth Stone.

Visual Artist Application for Durham Art Walk Holiday Market Closes Tomorrow! The application for the Durham Art Walk Holiday Market is NOW OPEN! All artists who wish to participate in this non-juried event must apply online via the application link. The application fee is $5.00, with a $75.00 booth fee for accepted artists. The Durham Art Walk Holiday Market will be held Saturday November 20, and Sunday November 21. Participating artists will be placed at locations throughout our Downtown Durham footprint, in both indoor and outdoor spaces. The Holiday Market is the perfect transition from the harvest to the holidays! This annual community arts festival is free and family friendly - learn more about Art Walk here.
