I have had to privilege to serve children and families for the past 25 years as an Artist. My experience includes collaborations with Private, Public, Montessori, Charter and Home Schools. Science Centers, Historical Sites, Arts and History Centers have also hosted my venues. I’ve travelled by horse and buggy, lived in Civil War Forts, caused explosions and set myself on fire several times all in the name of Passion. Workshop Beauty of Science

GRADES: Pre-K – 12

This scientific art workshop allows participants to create artistic compounds such as soap, lip balm, bath bombs, or salve. The curriculum includes folk-art design, history of beauty products, scientific conclusions, and small samples for to take home.

Max Participants: 30

Duration: 60 minutes

Special Requirements: access to water and electrical outlets, 2 tables and 2 chairs for facilitator and table and chairs for students.

Performance What’s in a Song?

GRADES: 3-12

While participating in games, period dress, dances and songs-students learn the true meaning and hidden messages within the song of enslaved people. This is an interactive African American History lesson highlights musical folk art and the life of a child in 1776. Appropriate for small groups or one grade level in a media center or auditorium.

Max Participants: 120

Duration: 45 minutes

Special Requirements: 1 microphone with amp, access to electrical outlet, strong wooden table

Residency Tattle Tiles

GRADES: Pre-K – 12

Students learn how to write and illustrate short stories on ceramic tiles. Participants are involved in the creative writing process and then turn their stories into a piece of art. Several options for the program available that will be discussed during a planning meeting with the artist and participating teachers.

Max Participants: 25

Duration: 3 days for students to create their own stories and tile making; 2 days for tile making only with demonstration of tile making

Special Requirements: access to sink, water, tables, trash can

Story, Tile Making, & Illustration Residency (3 days)

1 class: $950 plus supplies and negotiable travel fee ($125 suggested)

Tile Making residency (2 days)
