Number Drummer creator, Troy Kryzalka, has worked in music and education for over 20 years. Along with being a musician and classroom teacher, Troy has worked in curriculum and instruction as a trainer, coach, and developer. Number Drummer was created because Troy struggled to learn music the traditional way. Math became his approach for learning music, and it became his method for teaching. Troy has delivered Number Drummer interactive performances and workshops to thousands of students and educators across the US, and has been recognized and awarded by Yale University for his innovative teaching approach.

Performance Number Drummer Live 1: The Math Machine
GRADES: Kindergarten – 5
“The Math Machine” is a one-of-a-kind live interactive math and music experience where the entire audience “drums” up math to create a spectacular rhythmic performance. Experience math through beat, rhythm, timbre, dynamics, tempo, form, and more. Experience drumming through addition, multiplication, fractions, measurement, algebra, and more. EOG PREP EDITION ALSO AVAILABLE!

Special Requirements: Space large enough to accommodate the group of students with instruments. A screen or blank wall to project images onto. Artist brings sound equipment and all instruments. Please allow artist access to the performance space at least 60 minutes prior to performance time.

- Single Performance Fee: $993.75
- Two Same-Day Performances Fee: $1,493.75
- 3-4 performances in one day: $1,868.75 (school has the option to break students into smaller groups)
- All-Day Grade-Level Performance for K-5th grade (6 total performances following the school specials schedule): $2437.50 ($325/per grade level)
- EOG EDITION – 3-4 performances in one day: $1,687.50 (3rd, 4th, and 5th grade separately) – each grade receives their own EOG EDITION performance.
Performance Number Drummer Live 2: Breaking Beat
GRADES: Kindergarten – 5
During this performance, students experience rhythm and math on a deeper level. Through parts of a whole (K-2) and fractions (3-5), students discover how breaking beat into pieces (rhythm) is connected to math and reading, and how breaking words into parts (syllables) is connected to math and music.
