Performance Bluegrass: North Carolina’s Global Music
GRADES: 3-8
Grades 3-5 clap, sing, and respond to North Carolina’s roots music from the the early 1700s to the present, featuring sounds from Europe and Africa, blended here! Grades 6-8: Similar repertoire; deeper look at immigration and multicultural influences on North Carolina’s folk music.

Performance Catch the Bluegrass Bug!
GRADES: Pre-K – 2
Mr. Charles picks the guitar, or “tater-bug” (mandolin), hums the harmonica, and “rolls” the banjo, while all sing “Ain’t No Bugs On Me!” and other fun traditional tunes that make NC Bluegrass catchy!

Residency/Workshop Digging for the Roots of North Carolina Bluegrass Music
GRADES: Kindergarten – 5
Live interactive classroom sessions featuring singing and clapping with a different “focus instrument” each day, (guitar, mandolin, banjo, harmonica, voice). Students experience the influences of many cultures in developing NC roots music.

Max Participants: 45 students max per residency session (two classes may combine)
Duration: 50 minutes per workshop and residency session. 3 days needed for residency (minimum) with each participating class. Workshop is one session with a class.
Special Requirements: Classroom or library space. Artist brings everything needed for the residency.

3-Day RESIDENCY:
- Base Rate: $187.50 per class
- $562.50 (1 class, 3-day residency with same class each day)
- $1,125 (2 classes, 3-day residency with same 2 classes each day)
- $1687.50 (3 classes, 3-day residency with same 3 classes each day)
- $2,250 (4-5 classes, 3 day residency with same 4-5 classes each day)
