Summer has officially begun here at DAC, and the campers in the Cirque de Danse and Mini Camp sessions have been filling our halls with joy and fun! While the Mini Campers have been exploring all things 80s, the dancers have been preparing for their camp performance this Friday.
During the first day of camp, dance instructors Abbie Stone and Kate DeAlmeida realized that their group contained three sets of twins. Because of this, they decided to give the twins their very own dance: the Twin Act! Among this group are twins Monifa and Nzinga, who are excitedly preparing for their dance while also showcasing their creativity in Afternoon Adventures. Monifa says that the best part of her first day of camp was, “making puffy paint” with her sister.
Through painting and creative movement, these campers are not only having a blast, but are also cultivating collaboration skills and self-expression.
Pictured are the twins and their puffy paint creations, made of glue, shaving cream, and food dye – so cool! |
