“The Gondoliers,” by the renowned Gilbert and Sullivan, is a hilarious tale of love, ego, and virtuous wit. Come listen to a live orchestra as this beautiful mediterranean whirlwind unfolds. There is secret love, separated spouses, a lost prince set to inherit a vast kingdom of riches, three possible queens-to-be and the unexpected intrigue brought about by the Spanish Inquisition. Will the Spanish Duke and Duchess find wealth and happiness for their daughter in Venice? Will two handsome, and egalitarian, gondoliers successfully share a monarchy? Can a man wed in fractions? Come find out the answers and much much more at The Durham Savoyards production of “The Gondoliers; or, The King of Barataria.”
