Nurturing the Next Generation of Art and Creativity in our Community
Each summer, Durham Arts Council welcome hundreds of 5 to 13-year-olds from our community to our Summer Cultural Camps and Mini Camps. These fully immersive camps provide the next generation with a cultural and artistic experience that is crucial to their development and to the future of our thriving local arts community.
This summer, DAC welcomed nearly 1,000 campers to explore global perspectives on art and culture through four thematic adventures: Nifty Nepal; Great Galapagos; Joyous Djibouti and Picturesque Paraguay! Guided by talented teaching artists, the campers were immersed in the music, dance, history, visual arts and cultural traditions of each country. We are thrilled and inspired by the creative energy each of our young campers brought to these experiences each day, and we feel honored to play a role in nurturing the next generation of artistic and cultural expression that is so crucial to our thriving community.
Your gift to Durham Arts Council’s Annual Arts Fund provides the core support necessary to carry out our important community-focused programs and services, including our Summer Cultural Camps and Mini Camps. With your help, we can continue to provide critical resources to support the next generation of locally developed art and culture that make Durham and our surrounding communities so special and important.

Calling All Photographers and Videographers!
The Durham Arts Council is looking for photographers and videographers to document DAC programs, including festivals, special events, classes and camps. Photographers and videographers who wish to be considered for future DAC contracts should apply. Priority will be given to those from Durham and the Triangle.
The CenterFest Arts Festival has been a staple of the Triangle for nearly 50 years. Promoting local visual, as well as performing artists, the festival serves as a reminder of the impact art has on modern-day society. With the help of valuable volunteers, CenterFest has the potential to have an even greater influence.
If your organization is looking for an event to volunteer at, look no further. This experience is not only critical for supporting local artists and non-profits, but it will also be fun as well! To sign up please use the link provided below.
