Makala Muhammed, one of our School Break Camp Guest Artists, told the young artists about her own artistic path and what has shaped her creative practice. Everybody was so excited to see Makala's beautiful art as well as watch a video of how she creates her Linocut prints. Learn more about Makala here.

Deanna (Dee) Rovetta came to visit our young artists and showed her amazing abstract paintings. Campers were able to interact with each of these paintings, reflecting on how the works of art made them feel and talk about the images they saw within each creation. CAPS Artists, Larry & Joe, have been working hard for the release of their debut album, Nuevo South Train. They are thrilled to announce the date is finally here and hope the community joins in celebrating at The Fruit in Durham this coming Friday.
Charlie Hunter, DaShawn Hickman, and Brevan Hampden all make appearances on the album and join the bill for the evening. It's a star-studded lineup that you won't want to miss.

If you haven't been to a Larry & Joe show, get ready for the time of your life! Their bilingual program (eng/esp) features virtuosic folk fusion music, storytelling, humor, dancing, and singalongs. It's a family-friendly event... and all ages! Música para todos!
They will have arepas, full bar beverages, and coffee available for purchase.
As always, Larry & Joe is committed to inclusive programming. Tickets are BY DONATION and nobody is turned away due to lack of funds. If you can afford it, please consider donating more than the suggested amount to subsidize the ticket of someone less fortunate.
