Third Friday at the Durham Arts Council |

The Durham Arts Council is packed full of exciting exhibitions for the festive month of December! Come by to experience our two new exhibits on display and enjoy live music by singer-songwriter Caroline Larke!
"You & Me" by local artist Bethany Bash will be featured in Allenton Gallery on the main floor until January 12th, 2023. Bethany Bash grew up in Connecticut, and earned her BFA from the University of Connecticut. In 2008, she moved to Durham, NC where she currently lives with her spouse, their two kids, and their large hound dog. She has exhibited at VAE in Raleigh, The Carrack Modern Art formerly in Durham, the Carborro Arts Center and the Rubenstein Arts Center at Duke University. Along with her studio art practice, Bethany is an active muralist in Durham. Among her work is one of the satellite dish murals at the Duke Arts Annex, and the Corcoran Poetry Wall mural.

Check out The Watercolor Society of North Carolina's Traveling Show on the second level in the Semans Gallery! The Watercolor Society of North Carolina (WSNC) sends thirty (30) paintings chosen by the Judge from the current year’s annual exhibition to the venue where next year’s exhibition will be held. This Traveling Exhibition introduces outstanding, award-winning, WSNC paintings to Durham and surrounding areas. The viewer will experience varied, fun and eclectic creations of each artist while gaining a greater appreciation for watercolor and for the exceptional talent in our State. It is a privilege to be able to view this fine art so close to home. Open until January 13th, 2023.

This will also be our first Third Friday (12/16) featuring Downtown Durham's new Social District! Drinks are welcome in designated Bullpen cups, just no red wine!
