Durham Arts Council and Durham Art Guild are pleased to share that the SunTrust Gallery has been renamed to Truist Gallery. The gallery was originally named CCB Gallery in 1988, reflecting Central Carolina Bank’s leadership role in making a lead capital campaign gift of $100,000 to the Durham Arts Council's $5.3 million campaign to renovate the former City Hall building at 120 Morris St. into the beautiful, professional quality arts center showcase that it is today. The renovated Durham Arts Council building and its CCB Gallery were opened in 1988. The gallery was renamed SunTrust Gallery in 2009 when CCB was acquired. SunTrust Bank and BB&T Bank have now merged to become Truist Bank. Truist is the sixth largest U.S. commercial bank, serving approximately 10 million consumer households and a full range of business clients, with leading market share in many of the most attractive, high-growth markets in the country. Truist is committed to building and sustaining its communities and has goals for lending to LMI borrowers and small businesses, as well as affordable housing development and community revitalization; support of nonprofits; and participation in a variety of service and outreach programs.
