DAC will be awarding $20,000 in Emerging Artist grants this year thanks to generous support from the Mary Duke Biddle Foundation, the Anika James Foundation, DAC Annual Arts Fund donors and partner support from Orange, and Person Counties.
Applications for the DAC's Emerging Artists Grant program are now open. Artists who live in Durham, Orange, Chatham, Granville and Person Counties are eligible to apply for these professional development project grants . Details on the program and links to applications are on the DAC website.
Applications are due October 31, 2021.
The Durham Art Walk Holiday Market is a festive fine arts and crafts event that kicks off the holiday season in downtown Durham! Art lovers can shop local artists, take in some live music, dine at world-class restaurants, and more, all at easily strollable venues in the Durham city center. The Holiday Market is the perfect transition from the harvest to the holidays! Free and family friendly!
Durham Arts Council has proudly produced Art Walk since 2004. For 2021, the Art Walk Holiday Market festival features include indoor and outdoor exhibitors, live performances, delicious local food truck fare, and more! Stay tuned as event features are updated in the coming weeks!

Sign Up for One of Our Exhibit Tours! Artist: Cornell Watson Artist: Liz Williams Artist: Eliza Bell Join us for Pieces of Light, a photography exhibition curated from the diverse perspectives of forty-seven regional artists collaborating with the Six Feet Photography Project . Pieces of Light, held in conjunction with Click! Photography Festival, will be on view in the DAC Allenton and Semans Galleries. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Pieces of Light photographers used their cameras as a tool for connecting intimately with their daily lives, the natural world, and their immediate communities. This exhibition runs through November 27, 2021, and can also be viewed by appointment.
