Starting in the fall of 2019 the Durham Arts Council partnered with the North Carolina Arts Council, the Durham VA, and The Joel Fund to offer to art classes to veterans seeking care at the Durham VA.  Student were referred from Durham VA Recreational Therapy Department to participate.  When the COVID pandemic hit, classes were adapted to continue to meet online. These classes were at no cost for the participants.
