Sculptural Handbuilding (Ages 18 & up)
Create 3-dimensional art, using basic sculptural handbuilding techniques. You will also explore surface treatments with texture, glazes and colored slips. Please note, we do not teach wheel technique in this course, but we encourage students with such skills to incorporate thrown work with handbuilt. All skill levels are welcome!
Open Pottery Studio (Ages 18 & up)
Already have a project in mind? This intermediate class is designed for students with previous wheel or handbuilding experience who are ready to work independently. Improve your technique and refine your skills with as-needed assistance.
Handbuilding 101 (Ages 18 & up)
Curious about clay? Haven’t touched the stuff since kindergarten? Well now is your chance to learn the basics of handbuilding. This class will cover pinch pots, working with coils and slab construction. Challenge yourself, try something new and go home with something great.
Parent/Child Clay Workshops!*
These workshops are a great way to get creative with your child. Each workshop will allow your child, with your assistance, to create their very own ceramic artwork. Take one, or take them all! Because the projects need to be fired, artwork will be available for pick up about two weeks after the workshop.
Clay Date Night*
Grab your spouse or a friend and have a creative night out at the DAC Clay Studio. Participants will have the opportunity to experiment with clay as the instructor introduces a variety of techniques. Each person will complete and paint a functional piece of pottery that will be glazed and fired by the instructor and available for pick up 2-3 weeks after the workshop.
*This class is not currently being offered due to COVID.
