Pline Mounzeo
At age 18, Mounzeo started playing music . His interest in his country’s traditional rhythm with the Ngoma drum developed quickly. Mounzeo continued to train and improve his drumming technique and began to share his talent all over Congo and share the melodies of his country around the world. Mounzeo then moved to Senegal where his professional drumming career started to take off. Travel between African and European countries and the United States inspired.

Performance Bou Nzenza
GRADES: Pre-K – 12
This high energy music and dance performance introduces students to the music and culture of the Congo. The performance explores the history, music, dance, and diverse people of the Congo and the connection to the music of New Orleans and Congo Square. Students and teachers alike will learn simple dance moves and rhythms that will leave them clapping, stomping, and dancing for the rest of the day!
Max Participants: 250
Special Requirements: In-house sound system preferred for large-group performances in an Auditorium/Stage
Fees:
Single Performance Fee: $1,500 (60 minutes)
Two Performances Fee: $1,875 (35-40 minutes each)
Workshop Congolese Dance
GRADES: 3 – 12
Students will learn several traditional dances of the Congo accompanied by drums. The choreography tells stories of the diversity of people and ethnic groups from North to South Congo.
Max Participants: 25
Duration: 75 minute workshop (flexible)
Special Requirements: Open room with space for dancing and drums
Fee: $375 per hour/per class (workshops require a 2nd musician accompanist)
