Number Drummer creator, Troy Kryzalka, has worked in music and education for over 20 years. Along with being a musician and classroom teacher, Troy has worked in curriculum and instruction as a trainer, coach, and developer. Troy has delivered Number Drummer interactive performances and workshops to thousands of students and educators across the US, and has been recognized and awarded by Yale University for his innovative teaching approach.

Performance The Math Machine | Number Drummer Live 1
GRADES: PreK-2, 3-5
“The Math Machine” is a one-of-a-kind live interactive math & music experience where the entire audience “drums” up math to create a spectacular rhythmic performance. Learn to play drums using addition, multiplication, fractions, measurement, algebra, and more!

Duration: 50 min. standard / 45 min. compacted / 30-40 min. Pre-K & Kindergarten
Special Requirements: Shortest route to performance area for unloading equipment; Ramp or ground access for rolling in heavy gear; 20-30 min. for unloading; 60 min. for set-up; 30 min. knockdown; Screen or blank wall for projecting.

Performance Breaking Beat |Number Drummer Live 2
GRADES: PreK-2, 3-5
“Breaking Beat” takes students to the next level of drumming through math. During part 2, students experience fractions on a deeper level and discover how breaking beat (rhythm) and breaking parts (fractions and decimals) are connected to reading.

“Game On!” is the third installment of “drumming” up math to create an epic rhythmic performance. During part 3, students spin the game wheel. Will it stop on math from the past, present, or future! It’s game on!
