Jeannette Brossart, has been a professional mosaic artist since 2003. Her work includes public murals, sculpture, and custom installations. Jeannette has received numerous awards, appeared in publication, has facilitated over 175 workshops and residencies for participants from preschool to senior citizens. Jeannette is a professional teaching artist, selected delegate for the 2022/2020/2018 International Teaching Artist Conferences, The Lincoln Center Education , as well as facilitated customized residencies for multiple school systems and art councils. Programs

Workshop [Virtual Option] Pixel Tile Math
GRADES: Pre-K – 8 Students will develop creative thinking skills for understanding pixel tile art utilizing a square tile as a base unit while practicing math concepts in this hands on program per appropriate skills such as patterning, array, area, perimeter, fractions. This workshop is a hands-on activity that does not result in a finished piece of artwork to take home. If you would like this option, please see the mural residencies below. Max Participants: 30 Duration: 60 minutes Special Requirements: Students will be working in pairs or threes on one grid tray, tables best, or may need to arrange desks in order to share. Fee: $187.50 per class for hands on activity
Residency Pixel Tile Mural
GRADES: 6-12 A mosaic tile mural will be developed and created using simple software and square tiles only. Artist will lead students through the design process, and the mural image will be assembled pixel style to produce a permanent mural project. Multiple sessions required including introduction, computer session, assembly. Max Participants: Flexible Duration: Flexible; multiple sessions are required to include an introduction, computer session, and mural assembly. Special Requirements: introduction requires students to have access to technology to project from flash drive, computers/internet for students for design session, tables for assembly Fee: Fee varies on length of residency, cost of materials, and complexity of project. Residency Mosaic Mural
GRADES: Kindergarten-12 Students will learn about mosaic art and create a mosaic mural with actual materials. Curriculum objectives and collaboration is welcome. Projects vary widely, artist is experienced and eager to customize this residency to your needs, objectives, and budget. Max Participants: Flexible Duration: Flexible; multiple sessions are required to include an introduction, computer session, and mural assembly. Special Requirements: technology for introduction, tables for making sessions Fee: Fee varies on length of residency, cost of materials, and complexity of project. Please contact CAPS director.
