Donna Washington
Donna Washington is an award-winning internationally known master storyteller, artist-educator, and author who has been performing for audiences of all ages for thirty-eight years. She is renowned for her storytelling for both children & adults from poignant & funny fables about the human condition to racy relationship stories to spine-tingling tales of terror. She has been featured at numerous festivals, schools, & libraries, theaters, and other venues around the wordl including Canada, Ireland, Peru, Argentina & Hong Kong. Donna’s eleven storytelling CD’s and five books have garnered thirty-three national awards. In 2020, she co-founded the non-profit organization Artists Standing Strong Together.

Performance Folktales From Anansi to Zeus
GRADES: Kindergarten – 12th, adults/senior citizens
Donna Washington is a multi-faceted storyteller who works with all grades from Pre-K to High School. For elementary grades, she uses folklore to enhance literacy – that means language acquisition and vocabulary enhancement using a dynamic style that is fun, fast paced, and participatory. With middle high school, Washington shares stories about surviving middle school, antibullying, respecting others, African-American history, or career about what it is like to be a touring performer.

Special Requirements: Microphone on a stand, a chair, and a room temperature bottle of water. (Artist can provide the sound system if necessary)
