Carlye is a local professional Durham artist. She is an emotive painter & intuitive creator. Carlye’s love of color, symbolic forms, & intuitive perspective meld to create her artistic experession of hope & the true beauties of the soul. She has 30+ years of art ecperience-both as an artist & as an art mentor/instructor sharing her joy of art and teaching skills with students from 4-94. “I paint hope with vibrant colors and gutsy strokes.” ARTS-CURRICULUM INTEGRATION: (VISUAL ART) (SCIENCE) (ENGLISH LANGUAGE) (HISTORY) (SOCIAL STUDIES)

Programs

Workshop Creativity & Curriculum Cross-pollinating Workshop
GRADES: PreK-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12, adults Join Carlye as she leads students on a creative adventure. Carlye weaves subject matter & standards into a workshop project. Adding creative interpretations to curriculum helps students internalize & personally apply subject matter. Max Participants: 30 per session Duration: 45 minutes – 2 hours. (Three classes/sessions per day max) Special Requirements: One table area at front of room for artists, supplies, and class materials. Table work space for each student, clean up materials as determined by teacher and artist (such as disposable water cups, paper towels, craft paper to cover tables, and possible access to sink) adult/teacher/vulunteer presence to assist. Fees: $375 per hour/per session + Possible Materials Fees (One to Two back-to-back Workshops in same day) Three Session Fee: $1,125 + Possible Materials Fees (Three back-to-back 1 hour Workshops in same day)
Residency My Story Collage
GRADES: PreK-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12 Join Carlye as she teaches students how to portray a favorite memory; in their lives, in history, or in literature through collage. Storytelling thru any means is shown to strengthen memory, positively expressed identity & empowers self-confidence. Max Participants: Approx. 30 per session Duration: 60 mins per class/session (Max 4 sesssions per day) Special Requirements: Table space in front of room for artist, supplies, table surface for student artist to work, and adult/teacher/volunteer in the room to assist. Fee: $250 (1 Workshop) $375 – (2 back-to-back 1-hour Workshops in same day) $500 (3 back-to-back 1-hour Workshops in same day) $625 (3 back-to-back 1-hour Workshops in same day)
Workshop Self Portraits
GRADES: PreK-Kindergarten, K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12 Carlye shares creative joy through a 101 on self portraits. Technique & media chosen to cater to students’ ago appropriate abilities. Examples: kindergartners with crayons, 3rd graders with collaging to more advanced media & technique instructions for high-schoolers. Max Participants: 30 Duration: 45 minutes per session (grades K-5), 60 minutes (grades 6-8), 70-120 minutes (grades 9-12) Special Requirements: Tables to work on and area for artist to display materials and visual aids Fee: $200 per 1-hour session, up to 4 classes in one day $800
