Bright Star Touring Theatre is a national touring theatre company based in Asheville, NC. Our mission is simple: to challenge, engage, and delight audiences all over the world. We have performed for schools and communities large and small from Seattle, WA to Moscow, Russia. From 2000 seat theatres overlooking Manhattan’s skyline, to school cafeterias and libraries, no audience is too large or small. Bright Star Touring Theatre offers over 70 different shows in rotation covering topics like Black History, Social Studies, Classic Literature, Health and Wellness, Holidays, STEM, Diversity and Inclusion, Bully Prevention, Cyber Safety and Social-Emotional Learning. Residency Turn Your Students Into “Bright Stars!
GRADES: 3-12 Bright Star In-School Residencies use students’ imaginations to build an original sketch show in 3-5 days! Students develop skills in writing, reading, collaboration, acting, directing and so much more! Students learn to shine like Bright Stars. Minimum 3 days for residency program. Max Participants: 25 Duration: Minimum 5 days needed for residency completion, 60-minute sessions Special Requirements: Regular classroom set up, and a performance area Residency Fees: Single day residency:¨$2,743.75 (+ $125 Travel Fee) 5-day residency:¨$8,743.75 (+ $125 Travel Fee)
Performance Bright Star Theatre Performances
GRADES: Kindergarten – 12 Bright Star shows are highly entertaining, contain a strong character education message, and are directly related to important curricular concepts. 45 minutes, including Q&A. Max Participants: 350 Duration: 45 minutes, including Q&A Special Requirements: Space: 18 ft width x 8 ft height x 12 ft depth Single Performance Fee: $1,368.75 (+ $125 Travel Fee) Additional $350 for a “1-hour add-on Workshop” Two Performances Fee: $1,806.25 (+ $125 Travel Fee) Additional $350 for a “1-hour add-on Workshop
Workshop “Yes And..!” Drama Games for the Classroom and Life
GRADES: 3-12 Drama games are a great way to impact classroom climate and culture while learning to take risks. They’re also fun! Max Participants: 40 Duration: 60 minutes Special Requirements: Open space for students to move and participate Fee: $437.50 *Workshops must be scheduled with a performance.
