Brick Scholars
Megan Oteri, founder Brick Scholars, a mobile STEAM lab that bridges play-based learning with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and North Carolina state standards. As an advocate for playful learning, she believes people learn best through play. Her teaching methods, founded on research-based and brain-based educational theory, including LEGO® Education pedagogy and Contructionism, ensure all ages become engaged learners.

Residency LEGOcies
GRADES: PreK-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12
Students build a physical representation of their personal legacy using LEGO’S®. Students photograph their Legocy sculptures and write a creative writing piece describing their personal legacy. This program can be adapted to meet NC standards.
Max Participants: 30
Duration: 60 mins per session. (Recommended minimum 2 days for Residency)
Special Requirements: Classroom space with tables and chairs.

Workshop Lego Robotics
GRADES: PreK-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12
In this LEGO robotics workshop, students engage in hands-on STEAM challenges, designing, building, and programming robots. Tailorable to specific standards, it meets cross-curricular STEAM/NGSS, fostering critical thinking, innovation, and engineering skills.
Max Participants: 20
Duration: 60-75 mins per session.
Special Requirements: Tables, and the ability to charge tablets. May need several tablets with WeDo 2.0 application downloaded if class is larger than 20 students.
