The Durham Art Walk Holiday Market kicks off the holiday season in downtown Durham with a festive weekend of fine art, crafts, local artists, live music, great shopping, and world-class restaurants. With easily strollable venues throughout the Durham city center, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the Holiday Market at your own pace.

The Holiday Market is free, family-friendly, and welcoming to all. Below, you’ll find information to help you plan your visit, including parking, getting around, restrooms, accessibility, and more.

Where to Start +

Meet at the Durham Arts Council (120 Morris St.)!
Pick up a map and your Art Walk Passport (while supplies last), explore the artists and activities at DAC, then venture out to discover the many participating galleries, creative spaces, and local businesses within a one-mile radius. There’s plenty to see, shop, and experience throughout downtown Durham!

Parking and Transportation +

Parking is free in city lots and garages during Art Walk! Downtown offers several public parking garages that are just a short walk from the festival. The closest garages include:

Durham Centre Garage (300 W. Morgan Street)

Chapel Hill Street Garage (326 E. Chapel Hill Street)

Visitors are encouraged to arrive early for the best availability and to check current parking information before traveling.

Accessible parking is available adjacent to the market at the City Centre parking lot on Morris Street, across from the City Centre Garage.

Art Walk is free to attend! To help keep this market free for all to enjoy, we encourage a $5 donation when entering the Durham Arts Council.
Individual vendors and artists may have different methods to accept payment.

We are able to take Mastercard, VISA, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay and Google Pay! We also take cash.

Getting Around at Art Walk+

Art Walk takes place throughout downtown Durham on city streets and sidewalks. Most Art Walk Sites are located on paved surfaces with curb ramps and accessible sidewalks, though some streets have gentle slopes and the market can become crowded during peak hours.
At the Durham Arts Council site, there are entrance ramps, automatic doors, and an elevator to explore all of the market areas. Other sites may vary in accommodations, so please reach out to them directly for more information.
