Exhibition Statement
Midlife is defined in this exhibition not so much by an age bracket, but by landmarks navigated from a certain hard-won vantage point. It gives witness to a liminal view that has, at times, no resting place, and yet also no insurmountable obstruction. It is a space where the disorientation of early adult life has made way for extraordinary wealth (if only measured by things of true value), liberation, and fortitude.
Although Midlife invites the viewer to reflect on the view from here, this show is dedicated to any human who circled the sun many times over and kept going. And to them: go chase your dreams, convictions, and the latter part of your life as hard and lovingly as ever.
