DAC campers had a blast at our two-week Jamaica-focused cultural camp!
The visual campers (ages 7-13) expressed their creativity through many mediums: painting, clay, papier mâché, and more. Meanwhile, the performance campers (ages 7-13) sang reggae songs, danced to folk music, and acted out scenes set on beautiful Jamaican beaches.
Our youngest campers, Creative Kids (ages 5-6), joined in on the fun by making their own Jamaican fun fact booklets and dancing to drum beats together.
The camp concluded with a performance and gallery show highlighting the children’s artwork and talents. At the performance’s end, campers from all the groups took to the stage to sing a song written by music teacher, Rebecca Kleinmann, and DAC campers. It was the perfect ending to an amazing two weeks full of fun!

Special thanks to DAC instructors and volunteers and to our school scholarship providers: Fox Family Foundation, Durham Merchants Association Charitable Trust, Sheetz, Fred Kamey, and other individual supporters of the Arts Annual Fund. We could not make creative learning happen without your generosity!
