Durham Arts Council celebrates the unique creativity and spirit of every person and believes in creating a vibrant, diverse, equitable and inclusive community through the arts.
This month, DAC staff are participating in DEIA training and are providing free community courses designed for arts nonprofits, small businesses, and individual artists in Durham, with more sessions planned for 2024 and 2025.
These trainings aim to enhance diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and belonging within DAC and among other arts and cultural organizations in our community. DEIA courses are funded by North Carolina Arts Council Grassroots/ARPA funds and City of Durham ARPA Funds. These training programs are part of DAC’s “Culture & Arts: Invest to Restart” ARPA initiative.
As a cultural leader in Durham, DAC is committed at every level to developing, supporting, and celebrating diversity, equity, access, inclusion and belonging in our programming, services, audience, workforce, vendor relationships, board and governance as a reflection of the diverse communities we serve. |
