Join us at the DAC for Friday Night Makes, our NEW workshop series, offering a fun and laidback art-making experience every Friday night this Fall! These workshops offer a one-night-only opportunity to get creative in everything from ceramics to collage, writing to wellness and more! Class prices range from $25-35. Feed Durham Presents: “Lovingly Prepared By” |

“Lovingly Prepared by: A Multimedia Experience by Feed Durham” is now showing at the DAC. Covering both the first and second floor gallery spaces, “Lovingly Prepared by” is a celebration of Feed Durham’s inspirational work during the pandemic. |
|
|
Founded by Filmmaker Katina Parker, Feed Durham is a scrappy mutual aid collective that came together in response to mounting hunger in the Durham area, due to COVID. Since 2020, Feed Durham has fed 155,000+ neighbors in need through massive no-contact cookouts, where they lovingly prepare meals for 500 people per day, and offer grocery giveaways. |

Ivana Milojevic Beck, Susan Finer, Holly Fischer, and Sudie Rakusin are four artists with distinctly different voices who all share the desire to push the boundaries of their chosen media and present work that challenges conventions by recontextualizing the familiar. Their work explores identity with the goal of breaking free from social constructs. These artists invite their audience to suspend disbelief, delve beneath beauty and surface appearance, and enter a world of transmutation and fluidity.

The CenterFest Arts Festival has been a staple of the Triangle for nearly 50 years. Promoting local visual, as well as performing artists, the festival serves as a reminder of the impact art has on modern-day society. With the help of valuable volunteers, CenterFest has the potential to have an even greater influence. If your organization is looking for an event to volunteer at, look no further. This experience is not only critical for supporting local artists and non-profits, but it will also be fun as well! Calling All Photographers and Videographers! |
The Durham Arts Council is looking for photographers and videographers to document DAC programs, including festivals, special events, classes and camps. Photographers and videographers who wish to be considered for future DAC contracts should apply. Priority will be given to those from Durham and the Triangle. |

Artist Support Grant applications will close on August 31, 2023. Artists living in Durham, Orange, Person and Alamance Counties are welcome to apply! For more information, you can follow this link.
We will hold multiple zoom information sessions before the application closes. Sessions are not mandatory but give you a chance to hear other applicants’ questions. The Durham Arts Council is Looking for Panelists! |

Are you interested in serving as a grant review panelist for the Durham Arts Council?
Every year DAC assembles review panels to evaluate grant applications and recommend awards for its grant programs. If you would like to be considered to serve as a panelist, click here for more details and the interest form. All review tasks occur online so panelists do not attend meetings in person. The Durham Arts Council is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and local arts agency dedicated to supporting the arts in Durham and the entire Triangle Region in North Carolina and has served the community since 1954.
