Apply to be a CenterFest Arts Festival Exhibitor!
The visual artist application for CenterFest 2022 is NOW OPEN. All artists who wish to participate in CenterFest 2022 must submit this online application with images and application fee, even if they have been juried into CenterFest in past years. Normally, returning artists are rejuried every three years; artists who have been juried into CenterFest in the previous two years would be exempt from the jury process. For 2022, all applicants will be juried, as we have not had an in-person festival since before the pandemic (the last one was held in September of 2019).
The deadline to apply is May 15, 2022.
The 2022-23 Durham Arts Council Call for Artists is now open!
Submit your application to be considered for a solo exhibit in one of four gallery spaces programmed by the Durham Arts Council – the deadline to apply is April 30, 2022. The $15 fee for a solo exhibit application is submitted through the application platform.
If you wish to propose an exhibit other than a solo show (for example; a show that includes the work of several artists, a show based on a theme, a group or association show), you will need to fill out an alternate application. You will find the special proposal application here. The deadline for submitting special proposals is also April 30, 2022 and the application fee is $15.00 (must be paid at this link).
For more information, see our Exhibit FAQ.

Durham Public Schools Celebrates “Arts in Our Schools Month”
Throughout the month of March, Durham Public Schools will present student art exhibitions, instrumental and vocal performances, and dance recitals across the Durham community. “This is a month dedicated to arts education and gives our students a chance to appreciate how important arts in our schools is. The arts not only allow them to express themselves, but also reinforce what students learn in other subjects across the curriculum,” says Jeremy Tucker, Director of K-12 Arts Education at Durham Public Schools.
The Durham Arts Council CAPS program is a proud partner of Durham Public Schools and wishes the best of luck to all participating students! Check out the amazing arts presentations with partnering Durham arts organizations here!

"This site, Orchard Park, may be as foreign for you as for me and the newly planted cherry blossom trees."
Come conjure your own memories and map them on this site through ritual performance. Using scent as a guide, the performance inspires a moment of solitude and intimacy with the park’s natural habitat, bridging the visitors’ past with the nature’s present. Contemplating on the different temporalities that lingers in the park – our embodied memories and the saplings’ future – the performance offers a humble celebration to the newly planted cherry blossom trees.
This performance involves holding a burning incense and moving across both grass and pavement. The performance is scheduled to last 45 min – 1 hr. We recommend that children are accompanied by adults throughout the performance. Please arrive promptly at 4pm if you plan to participate along with the dancers. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
The Burlington Artists League, in conjunction with the BAL Fine Art Gallery, is hosting the Spring Regional Fine Art Competition in April. Artwork submitted March 29 and 30.
