FUNKEDIFIED: American Dance Festival partners with DAC’s CAPS program
ADF is presenting FUNKEDIFIED, a newly edited 35-minute high energy, street dance performance from Rennie Harris’ Puremovement and American Street Dance Theatre. The virtual show is prerecorded and being offered to schools throughout the triangle. For older youth, there is an exclusive 25-minute interview with Rennie Harris on hip-hop culture and street dance. The multimedia work celebrates funk music and street dance of the 1970’s, set against the landscape of a video montage of African American Communities of that era. Six Durham Public Schools (Southern High, Carrington Middle, Neal Middle, Oak Grove, Parkwood, and Burton Elementary) are participating in the virtual event this November and December.
