Workshop Learning In Motion For EveryBODY!
GRADES: Pre-K – 5 DESCRIPTION: Learning in motion for everyBODY! is an engaging creative movement workshop for Exceptional Children. Teaching artists provide developmentally appropriate movement-based material to students in Exceptional Child classrooms from Pre-K through fifth grade during the school day. These lessons are based on themes that enable students to explore real-world topics and academic content through movement. The material connects to several extended content standards and general IEP goals. It will expose students to the fundamentals of creative movement, including skills such as body control, coordination, and balance. In addition, students with disabilities will experience movement activities that encourage self-awareness and relationship-building skills while reinforcing classroom learning concepts. Sessions are adapted to fit the needs specific to a classroom and teacher input is encouraged in making modifications for students’ learning needs. Movement is a powerful learning tool that we want to bring to your classrooms! Max Participants: 25 Duration: 45-60 minutes Special Requirements: Teaching artist will supply any materials needed. Classroom space with some furniture moved aside or another appropriate movement space. Fee per Workshop: $250.00 per workshop/hour which includes a planning visit before the workshop
