Durham Arts Council is seeking an experienced, innovative, and focused individual to join our team as the new American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Project/Data Manager to help administer the $400,000 in ARPA funding through the Durham Arts Council from the City of Durham and Durham County. These ARPA funds are designated to provide support and recovery to the Durham arts and cultural sector post-pandemic. This Project Manager will be responsible for providing meticulous and accurate program management, impact reporting, financial reports, and tracking of grant applications and reports from arts organizations, arts businesses, and artists in Durham. This Project Manager will provide management, tracking and reporting for two ARPA programs: financial grant awards and training program awards. The Project Manager will inform and support the arts and cultural sector in managing grant funds and training programs that will be provided through Durham Arts Council and its ARPA training partners.
The Project Manager will help promote the program and its relation to the City and County’s Durham Cultural Roadmap, a county-wide cultural planning process. The position will work closely with the City of Durham’s Cultural and Public Art Program and Durham Arts Council’s team to develop training programs with qualified training providers. This is a temporary grant-funded position with potential to extend. This position is hybrid depending on experience and qualifications. Office space will be provided by the City of Durham at the General Services Department (2011 Fay Street, Durham, NC 27704). Free parking is available.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong organization and planning skills to develop and accurately manage complex projects and meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Mail Merge, Email, PowerPoint, social media, graphic design and database management. Position utilizes online platforms such as Submittable, telephone systems, general office software and systems utilized by DAC. Proven 2 to 3 year track record in effective and accurate project management and communication. Grant management and government contract experience a plus.
SALARY
This is a full-time, exempt salaried position. The position is grant-funded through January 31, 2027, with potential for extension depending on funding availability. Salary budgeted hiring range is $50,000 to $56,000, paid hourly from $30 – $35 depending on experience and qualifications.
