Seeking Visual Arts Instructors
Summer Arts Camp 2025
Contract Position

Durham Arts Council (DAC) holds eleven weeks of camp each summer, including a series of Cultural Camps and Teen Intensives.
We are seeking contracted Visual Art Instructors who have several years of experience as an arts educator or teaching artist. A bachelor’s degree is required; Fine Arts or related teaching degree preferred. Camp instructor positions are independent contract positions that pay $27/hour.
Applicants must be available during the following camp, Monday through Friday:
- July 28 – August 8 (2 weeks), 7:45am – 3:15pm: Cultural Camp – Genius Germany (Visual Track – 2D Dry Media, ex: drawing, paper crafting, collage, fiber arts such as weaving and embroidery)
Supplies are provided by the DAC. Camp Instructors design their own curriculum and prep all activities.
Optional opportunities are often available for subbing other weeks of camp or the extended day program, Afternoon Adventures, from 3-5:30pm.
