$8 Million for Restart the Arts Grants – Ask Your State Reps to Support H562
Last week Rep. Becky Carney and Rep. Jeffery Elmore, NC House Co-Chairs of the Joint Caucus for Arts and Arts Education, were joined by Arts Caucus Members Rep. Erin Paré and Rep. Susan Fisher as Primary Sponsors of H562 which would allocate $8 million for Restart the Arts Grants to nonprofit arts organizations, which Arts NC had requested of the NC General Assembly. This funding, $4 million each year for the next two years, would be distributed by the NC Arts Council for costs associated with presenting arts and cultural programming to the public. The bill already has wide bipartisan support from 39 additional co-sponsors. This funding is needed to restart the arts, which is crucial to reigniting our state’s economic engines and strengthening our communities statewide.
NOW IS THE TIME to ask your NC Senators and NC House Representatives for support, or thank them for their sponsorship, of H562 to Restart the Arts.
