Celebrate, cultivate, and elevate Durham’s continuously blooming art scene as we Swing into Spring and welcome a new season of the arts in Durham! Fun activities with a local arts and Durham twist including chances to win some neat prizes! North Carolina/Durham/Art History/Local Arts Trivia? Pictionary? Other quirky contests? Here’s some fun news: INDY Week’s Best of the Triangle reader poll opens this Friday, March 26th where you nominate and vote for your favorite businesses as Best of the Triangle in more than 300 categories. The voting runs through next month and four finalists in all the categories go head to head in May.

The Public Art Committee is accepting applications for new members.
What is the Public Art Committee?
Public Art Committee members serve without compensation and must live, work or study within the County of Durham. Due to the COVID-19 virus, all Public Art Committee meetings will be hosted as virtual meetings until further notice. The Public Art Committee has more than 13 appointed members (including up to three students from high school and schools of higher learning). The Public Art Committee provides new member recommendations to the Durham Cultural Advisory Board, who then appoints new committee members. Members are appointed to serve one three-year term, and may be reappointed for a second term. After two consecutive full terms, members must step down for a period of at least two years before being considered for re-appointment. The deadline to apply is Friday, April 16, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. EST.
